Appliques & Flowers
The iPad has been my constant companion lately, I love how it allows me to be connected with my favourite blogs, check and info I need on the go and I have my recipes on there so I can refer while cooking or baking. Naturally, I want to protect my spanking new gadget, I decided to sew my own iPad cover.
The thing is I did not like many of those DIY designs I saw online, the only one I fancied was not meant to be an iPad cover, it was supposed to be a cloth envelope. So I set out to figure out the measurements on my own - it took a long time, much trial and error, some wasted fabrics later... the iPad case was too small. Well, if I pushed and stuffed it, the cover fits, ALMOST.
Despite it all, I'm proud of the applique on the iPad cover that I made. With every project, fail or succeed, we are bound to learn something right? No worries, I will make another one soon when i have another afternoon to spare!
To cushion the disappointment, I received lovely flowers today and had a successful try of a new recipe! (read it at Deery Lou Aromas)
Oh well, happy mid-week!

Home to call our own
It feels like we are ticking off a checklist of life one by one. After the wedding, we were back to the hectic work then we signed away the next stage of life to a new home.
The legalities have just been completed last week and starting from now we are waiting for the apartment to be built. The target completion date is Oct 2014, many says it is usually ready by 3rd quarter in year 2013.
Although there will be some adjusting to do moving to the eastern part of the island, we are nevertheless excited to have somewhere to call our own.
Giving thanks everyday for what we have :)

A Moment of Truth & Beauty
When you start to know someone, all their physical characteristics start to disappear. You begin to dwell in their energy, recognize the scent of their skin. You see only the essence of the person, not the shell. That’s why you can’t fall in love with beauty. You can lust after it, be infatuated by it, want to own it. You can love it with your eyes and your body but not your heart. And that’s why, when you really connect with a person’s inner self, any physical imperfections disappear, become irrelevant.

When it gets hectic
What happens when work just takes over?
Priorities - this is a good time to set it right.
Let Go - when it is out of my control
Next month should be better, 2 mini breaks planned for us and I'm so looking forward to it.

Miss to Missus
I'm back! From wedding, then wedding break, then back to work.. This is which number of times I've left this space hanging? Honestly, I do not think this is the last time i'm gonna neglect my pretty page but I always come back, I always do!
What was January? It was a blur - A blur of stress, happy tears and nervous sweat! The wedding day was a near-perfect one but nothing is big enough as an emergency. Not even when sis stepped on the train of my dress or the hotel miscommunicated the solemnisation set-up or my mum's hairdo not done when wedding have already started.. None of this dampened the spirits of bride and groom, near-perfect it was but no one would change a thing.
Thank God for Kel and his endurance, through the gatecrashing games, being a sweetie still smiling till the end of day despite the quiet chaos. What's important was after the wedding we set off on choppy waves to our island getaway, we thought it was all worth it and we relived the moments with glee.
Thank God we had angels to help us too, who came to help when I was fretting out tying ribbons on program booklets and sticking labels. I am so grateful for my dearie being the silent support throughout the entire day and she must have kicked off her heels with sore feet.
How about February? Time for new husband and wifey to start the angpow giving tradition! I thought it was going to be more painful than it is, we'll get used to it few years down. It is also the time of Natas fair and new wife is hunting for good fare and deals for honeymoon! Ok, I promise the next post won't wait till Sept after the honeymoon trip. I will be here now and then to share again.
Like I said, the wedding itself is a test of love for us, a test of endurance for all including family. I'm glad it went well and now let the pictures tell.
